There was a large turnout of players for the 2017 Chamber Classic Golf Tournament at the Andalusia Country Club on Monday morning.
“It has been a picture perfect day,” Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Chrissie Duffy said. “The weather has been perfect and everybody has been in a good mood.”
Duffy said that the turnout for this year’s event was great.
“We have had an excellent turnout this year,” Duffy said. “We also have had excellent support.”
With the event going smoothly, Duffy credited the chamber members.
“Our board of directors have done an excellent job with this,” Duffy said. “It’s always easier when you have as many helping hands as we do.”
The annual ball drop event that goes a long with the Chamber Classic had to be changed up a little this year due to weather.
“It’s always something we prepare for,” Duffy said. “The past two years we have had our Life Flight team drop the balls out of the helicopter, but we always know that if there is an emergency that they might not be able to make it.”
As it turns out, the Life Flight crew that was slated to come was deployed to Dallas to help with the rescue and relief efforts from Hurricane Harvey. Read More>
