The Andalusia Fire Department is located at 100 Church Street. By means of three pumpers and one 85 ft. aerial platform, this department operates as a full-time fire department. It also has a Brush Truck which holds 400 gallons of water and 12 gallons of foam to be used for grass fires, vehicle accidents, etc.
Under the direction for Fire Chief Russell McGlamory, Andalusia's Fire Department employs 18 full-time Firefighters and 1 Fire Inspector. All Firefighters work on a scheduled shift consisting of 24 hours on and 48 hours off. The Fire Chief works a normal business hour schedule, Monday thru Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. The Fire Inspector also works Monday thru Friday, 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
At this time, the City of Andalusia has an I.S.O. rating of Class 4, which was affirmed in 2020.
The Andalusia Fire Department is also involved in raising funds for MDA, Muscular Dystrophy Association. You may see us around town a couple of times a year seeking donations for this fine organization.
