Trash Truck Driver

The City of Andalusia is accepting applications for the position of Trash Truck Driver.Under the general direction of the Trash Collection Supervisor, the employee is responsible for the effective operation of automotive equipment utilized in the transportation of materials and personnel in support of street department operations. Work includes the operation of trash collection vehicles and equipment in the collection of trash from commercial and residential establishments; ensures safety of personnel and efficient operation; and may assist garbage collectors in the collection of garbage when needed. Work is performed in accordance with established routine or special instructions received from a superior. 

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  •  Possession of a valid driver’s license as issued by the Alabama Department of Public Safety.
  • Graduation from a standard high school or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain an awareness of traffic on the roads. 
  • Ability to work nonstandard hours and/or over 40 hours per week.
  • Dependable and safe driving record.

ANNUAL ENTRY SALARY RANGE: Based on experience.
