Director of Leisure Services

The City of Andalusia is accepting applications for the Director of Leisure Services position. Under the administrative direction of the Mayor, the employee is responsible for the overall management and daily operations of the Leisure Services Department, including 13 parks, 3 community centers, 3 cemeteries, a 20-acre lake, and 600 acres of city right-of-way.  The employee also selects, evaluates, trains, and disciplines personnel; oversees the organization of all programs and special events sponsored by the department; plans for maintenance and expansion requirements for all department facilities; and performs public relations duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Any combination of training and/or experience equivalent to:

• Graduation from a College or University with a degree in Recreation or a related field.

• Extensive experience of a progressively responsible nature in organized recreational activities, including considerable experience in a supervisory capacity.

• Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the Alabama Department of Public Safety.

   

SALARY RANGE:  Based on experience.
